Dowiat was founded by Krzysztof Dowiat in 2019. The business was built on the back of Krzysztof’s extensive career in building loft conversions and extensions for other building firms and spotting the gap in the market.

I needed a builder who knew their trade, could manage a whole residential house renovation and both introduce and site manage other competent tradesmen (electrician, plumber, wood floor fitter etc.). Krzysztof was all that and more. It was refreshing to work with a builder who sought to save me money and offered solution options accordingly. There is always a bit of snagging and stuff that goes wrong but Krzysztof guarantees his work and really means it, no quibbling, and came up with some great solutions to fix equipment ordering issues. I have introduced him to several neighbours and friend, who also have only good things to say.

Krzysztof gave me a competitive quote for remodelling my flat, knocking two rooms together and installing a new kitchen. The old kitchen was removed, the room was renovated and turned into a bedroom. All those rooms were redecorated.
Krzysztof arrived when they said they would, laid protective covering on all the carpets, worked speedily and efficiently and did a brilliant job.
Krzysztof subcontracted and supervised all plumbing and electrical work with equal efficiency. He also helped select suitable flooring for the kitchen, pointing out why my original choices would not have been waterproof, despite them being assessed as such in the store.
Any problems were communicated to me as I wasn’t living on site, and solutions were found. Occasionally, Krzysztof used his initiative and got the job done.
I would definitely recommend Krzysztof and his team for any building work. They were a pleasure to work with and Krzysztof, as manager, was helpful, had good ideas and would go the extra mile.
